The TPU (thermoplastic urethane) is a solid post at the back of the boot which adds support and helps prevent over pronation which is when the foot rolls inwards, common with people with flat feet, these boots help support the foot and ankle to reduce roll when walking helping reduce foot fatigue and undue strain experienced with other boots.
