Emma Safety Footwear is a Dutch company which was started back in the 1920's By Dutch state mines to provide support and employment for injured miners, and at the same time to produce safer sturdier footwear for working miners.

The working experience of these miners was built in to the shoes and boots they made.

Today the same principle applies, with all the craftspeople at Emma wearing their products.

To make a quality pair of shoes or boots, you really need quality raw materials.

Emma footwear use only the finest Brazilian leather (the same in most luxury cars)

The leather used is 2.2mm thick, making the shoes extremely strong and supportive.

Each pair of Emma shoes are stitched and hole punched by hand.

Tested to the correct European standards, they are then subjected to further in-house testing, pulling, stretching and pounding on machines that simulate daily wear and tear and walking for hundreds of kilometers.

Your feet will stay drier and more comfortable in a pair of Emma shoes, the sole is designed to reduce effort in walking, reducing heat build up, and then you have the Hydro-Tec® lining, which allows moisture to wick away from your feet, keeping them dry and comfortable. To recharge the liner, just leave them in a dry well ventilated place overnight, and they are ready to go again.

All Emma soles are designed to optimise contact between the floor and the shoe, to achieve 'perfect balance' this reduces the effort in movement.
