Cold Protection Gloves

(72 products)

Cold protection gloves protect hands when handling frozen products, chilled goods, and cold metal equipment—not just keeping you warm in cold environments. The second EN 511 digit (contact cold resistance) measures protection when touching frozen objects. That's distinct from convective cold (air temperature) and water resistance.

What EN 511 Ratings Actually Mean

EN 511 uses three digits: convective cold (cold air), contact cold (touching frozen surfaces), and water permeability. A Level 4/4/1 glove offers maximum protection against cold air, frozen product contact, and stays waterproof for 30+ minutes. Most freezer work handling frozen boxes and chilled goods needs Level 3 or 4 contact cold resistance—that second digit protects you from cold burns when touching -18°C to -25°C surfaces.

Materials and Insulation Weights
  • 3M Thinsulate (40g to 200g) — finer fibres trap warm air without bulk; choose weight based on temperature and exposure time
  • Multi-layer construction — leather or nylon shell, Tricot lining, Thinsulate barrier, 7mm foam cushioning
  • Waterproof membranes — TPU or PTFE barriers that let sweat escape whilst blocking water (wet gloves lose 90% insulation)
  • Extended knit cuffs — seal warmth and stop cold air infiltrating during overhead work
  • Textured grip palms — hold frozen boxes and slippery surfaces securely
Applications for Freezer Gloves

Handling frozen food boxes in cold storage at -18°C to -25°C, picking chilled products in meat processing plants, operating equipment in pharmaceutical cold storage, outdoor winter construction, commercial fishing, refrigerated transport—anywhere contact with frozen surfaces or cold metal causes cold burns within 15-20 minutes. For complete protection, pair with our thermal workwear range including insulated boots and jackets.
