Fall Protection
Falls from height cause 36% of all UK workplace deaths—50 workers killed in 2023/24 alone. Fall protection equipment isn't optional when you're working above ground level. It's the difference between a controlled incident and a fatality.
This collection covers three protection strategies. Fall arrest systems—harnesses, energy-absorbing lanyards, and fall arrest blocks—stop falls in progress and limit impact forces to survivable levels. Work positioning equipment supports you during tasks at height. Restraint systems prevent you reaching the edge in the first place.
What You Need to Know Before Buying
Your choice depends on the task, fall distance, and anchorage options available:
- Full-body harnesses (EN 361) distribute fall forces safely across torso and thighs
- Energy-absorbing lanyards (EN 355) reduce peak arrest forces below 6kN
- Self-retracting lifelines (EN 360) offer mobility with automatic fall arrest
- Anchorage devices and connectors (karabiners, scaff hooks) rated to 15kN minimum
Construction, roofing, maintenance, and warehouse work at height all require certified protection. Products in this collection meet EN 361, EN 355, EN 360 standards; check individual listings for exact certification.
