Needle Resistant Gloves

(14 products)

Needle resistant gloves aren't the same as standard puncture-resistant gloves. While some are marketed as 'needle proof gloves', no glove is truly needle-proof – they provide needle resistance, not absolute protection.

Standard EN 388 tests use a 4mm blunt probe that requires 20-150 Newtons to penetrate. Hypodermic needles? Just 0.51mm diameter and penetrate most materials with under 2 Newtons. That's why healthcare workers, law enforcement, waste management teams, and correctional officers need ASTM F2878 certified needle resistant gloves - tested specifically against actual hypodermic needles, not ballpoint-pen-sized probes.

ANSI Needle Resistance Levels: What You Actually Need
ANSI 5 Heavy Duty (10+N)
Extreme-risk recycling sorting, aggressive searches
ANSI 4 Medium Heavy Duty (8-9.9N)
High-risk waste management, correctional searches
ANSI 3 Medium Duty (6-7.9N)
Waste sorting, vehicle searches, clinical waste
ANSI 2 Light Medium Duty (4-5.9N)
Healthcare sharps, law enforcement pat-downs, EMS
ANSI 1 Light Duty (2-3.9N)
Low-risk healthcare, general hospital maintenance

Many models in this collection feature steel mesh palms, SuperFabric guard plate technology, multi-layer Kevlar and HPPE construction, or glass fibre composites. Each provides certified ASTM F2878 needle resistance whilst maintaining dexterity for searches, patient care, and waste sorting. When selecting between needle puncture resistant gloves and cut resistant gloves, consider the specific hazard: needles require deflection technology, whereas cuts need fibre strength.
