Aluminized heat resistant gloves rated to 1000°C protect against radiant heat in foundries, steel mills, and glass manufacturing. Standard gloves fail near furnaces radiating 800-1000°C – you need reflective barriers, not just insulation.

The Radiant Heat Problem

Radiant heat is invisible infrared radiation you feel metres away from molten metal or furnace walls. It causes severe burns through regular protective equipment. Aluminized outer layers reflect 95-97% of this energy back, whilst inner Kevlar and wool felt layers provide insulation and brief contact protection.

Construction and Protection Levels

Options in this collection include:

  • Aluminized Kevlar – aluminum foil bonded to 440-750 GSM aramid fabric, tested to EN ISO 6942 at 20 kW/m²
  • Wool felt mid-layers – thermal mass prevents "steam burn" from perspiration heating rapidly
  • Extended 35-45cm cuffs – forearm protection when reaching towards heat sources
  • EN 373 molten metal splash resistance – material won't stick, melt through, or ignite
